Assistant or Associate Professor (Clinical) in Gastroenterology and Hepatology

The McGill University Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology invites applications for a full-time Contract Academic Staff position as a Clinician-Teacher or Clinician-Educator at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor (Clinical) based at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC). This position does not confer eligibility for tenure. The Department of Medicine is a leader in academic medicine, supporting excellent and innovative clinical programs across teaching hospitals.

The successful candidate will be appointed to clinical practice in the Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Responsibilities include coordination and oversight of the Division’s Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME) activities, requiring at least 30% of time dedicated to UGME teaching, alongside clinical activities at three MUHC sites.

Job Duties

• Appointment to clinical practice in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
• Coordination and oversight of UGME activities.
• Teaching the next generation of physicians, including didactic and clinical teaching.
• Active involvement in McGill’s academic mission, including research and supervising students and residents.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• MD degree and eligibility for licensure in Quebec.
• Completion of subspecialty training in Gastroenterology.
• Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
• Completion of a dedicated clinical fellowship.
• Clinical experience in endoscopy and managing acute GI emergencies.
• Bilingual language skills in French and English preferred.
