Technical Sales Representative

Centrix Control Solutions is expanding its team and has an immediate opening for a Technical Sales Representative responsible for promoting and supporting our world-class product lines. Based in our Port Coquitlam office, the successful candidate will be responsible for a set territory covering a diverse group of customers including consultants, head offices, site personnel, and OEMs. Our core markets include water & wastewater, mining, pulp & paper, oil & gas, and food & beverage.

• Technical Sales Representative for existing and new customer base.
• Actively pursue new business opportunities to expand installed product market share.
• Provide technical support on products and promote various Centrix service offerings.
• Perform internal/external product seminars and presentations.
• Increase sales and profitability in assigned territory.
• Ability to provide a presentation for a consultant in the morning, enjoy lunch with a contractor or OEM, and then put on coveralls for a site visit in the afternoon.
• Liaise with principal manufacturers.
• Participate in industry associations.
• Self-motivated, independent individual with the drive to constantly learn and promote new sales.
• Strong interpersonal & communication skills.
• Computer skills; Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to work with difficult customers and resolve problems and issues.
• Ability to communicate and interact with customers in a professional manner.
• Ability to travel frequently out of town and overnight.
• Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical/Instrumentation Technology/Technician Diploma.
• Minimum 3 years of industry experience within municipal, mining, and/or pulp & paper industries.
• Previous technical sales experience is an asset.
• Previous experience with valves and actuation in the municipal, mining, and/or pulp & paper industry.
• Clean drivers abstract with an affinity for safety.
