Corporate Accountant

Our client, a global and innovative leader in their industry is in search of a Corporate Accountant to join their Finance team.

With hybrid flexibility, this permanent role is based in Dartmouth, NS and is well-suited for a newly designated CPA or CPA candidate eager to advance in a dynamic setting.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Assist in preparing financial statements involving multiple currencies and consolidations
• Prepare bank and other account reconciliations as part of the month-end close
• Process accounts payable, including invoice verification and entry, employee expense reports, and vendor record maintenance
• Provide financial analysis and respond to requests for financial information from internal departments
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP
• Assist with HST/VAT returns, annual SR&ED claims, government audits, and regulatory reporting
• Support the preparation and maintenance of the inventory costing database
• Assist with audits by providing documentation and insights
• Contribute to cash flow forecasting, insurance renewals, budgeting, presentation preparation, and ad hoc projects as required

Experience & Attributes for Success:

• Post-secondary education in accounting
• CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA designation is ideal
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Proficiency in Xero software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong prioritization, organizational, and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
• High attention to detail and critical thinking skills for financial analysis and reporting
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry standards
