Accounting Clerk
Waterloo Region District School Board

Responsibilities:
- Receive, review and verify accounts payable invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to inputting into the accounting system
- Process vendor payments and perform payment cycles to meet payment terms and conditions for Board vendors in a timely and accurate manner
- Receive, review and verify employee expense reimbursements forms for proper approvals, compliance with Board policies and procedures. Process employee expense reimbursements in a timely and accurate manner
- Process other miscellaneous accounts payable payments;
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with internal and external customers (schools, departments, vendors);
- Log receipt and shipment of school money bags;
- Reconcile vendor accounts;
- Prepare journal entries as required;
- Provide service and support to other board staff/departments as it relates to accounts payable matters;
- Scan various financial documents into the Boards electronic data management system;
- Work collaboratively as a member of the Financial Services team to meet departmental and organizational objectives
- Perform other duties as required which include but are not limited to filing or other administrative duties.
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary education is required (undergraduate degree or college diploma);
- Proven experience and proficiency working in a windows environment using various administrative software packages (MS Office, Adobe Acrobat Professional, G-Suite) is required;
- 2 years prior experience working in a similar accounting function and knowledge of applicable tax rules is required.
