The Role

We are seeking an experienced physician to join our passionate team on a part-time basis at our clinical research site located in Richmond, BC. The ideal candidate is p assionate about clinical trials and patient safety, has the accountability and motivation to complete time-sensitive duties ahead of schedule, and has an extremely high attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee clinical trials conducted at Headlands Research sites, ensuring compliance with protocol requirements, regulatory standards, and ethical guidelines.
  • Manage the medical care of research subjects.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to an ever-expanding clinical team, all striving to create a patient-centric and positive experience.
  • Participate in investigator meetings and educational initiatives to stay updated on advancements in clinical research and diversity initiatives.
  • Ensure proper documentation of study-related procedures, processes, and events.
  • Oversee and protect the rights and welfare of patients
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders including sponsors, monitors, regulators, and research network leadership.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to research staff.
  • As part of recruitment initiatives and in conjunction with staff physicians, assess, diagnose and treat patients with neurological disorders.

Qualifications:

  • Current & unencumbered College of Physicians of BC license to practice as an MD or DO in British Columbia required
  • Minimum of five years of experience practicing as a physician in Canada required
  • Previous clinical research experience highly preferred
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements
  • Provide the sponsor and research ethics board (REB) with documentation of credentials, as requested
  • Strong communication skills
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: able to interact with professional staff, sponsors, regulatory representatives, patients, and their families.
