Dufferin Asphalt, A CRH Company is accepting applications for the position of Plant Operator/Batcher for its London Asphalt Plant.

The responsibilities of the Asphalt Plant Employee include, but are not limited to:

  • Learn and operate the plant controls to produce hot-mix asphalt based on production/quality specifications
  • Operate heavy equipment included but not limited to front-end loaders, Skid Steer and Water & Dump Trucks
  • Assist the plant foremen with daily operations and upkeep of the plant
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers by addressing issues, questions, or concerns in a timely manner
  • Detect and prevent potential safety hazards as well as any equipment/component malfunctions
  • Perform necessary maintenance and repairs. This includes but not limited to working at heights & confined spaces

What Makes a Successful Candidate?

  • Previous experience batching and loading trucks preferred.
  • Previous asphalt plant or equivalent environment preferred.
  • Flexibility to work for extended periods of time/rotating shifts including nights, holidays & weekends.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Excellent planning, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Welding and Oxy/acetylene torch experience is an asset.
  • Computer knowledge with the ability to complete basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to travel to additional plant locations to support operational requirements.
  • Valid G class driver's license required.
