Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and experienced leader to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our Claims department while supervising remote employees and assisting functional managers with remote employee support. The Assistant Manager will help enhance productivity and ensure that team goals are met efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide ongoing training, coaching and supervision to Claim Adjusters and support staff members.
- Review, approve, or deny claims over Adjuster’s authority level and within company guidelines
- Perform claim audit review in conjunction with Auditor and provide feedback on audit findings
- Handles full complaint process including communication with all parties involved, provides response to complainants and/or Department of Insurance or other consumers agencies.
- Act as a back-up to the Claims Manager
- Manage and mentor remote team members, providing guidance and support to foster a productive remote work environment.
- Conduct regular check-ins and performance evaluations to monitor progress and address any issues.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure proper onboarding and training for remote employees.
- Vendor Support:
- Be primary liaison and support resource for Montreal based operations vendor(s) with claims activity and/or other functional areas support (as required) with work performed in the Montreal vendor location.
- Assist in evaluating vendor performance and resolving any service-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain strong vendor partnerships that align with organizational goals.
- Conduct regular check-ins and performance evaluations to monitor progress and address any issues.
- Operational Support:
- Onsite Operational support for all Brossard SEOPS functional positions, collaborating with the various functional leaders as required with updates & requests.
- Oversee various projects and initiatives, ensuring timely completion and alignment with business objectives.
- Assist in developing and implementing strategies to improve overall operational efficiency.
- Prepare reports and presentations for upper management as needed.
- Team Collaboration:
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, encouraging open communication and sharing of best practices.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support organizational initiatives and projects.
- Additional Duties:
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the management.
- Physical Requirements: The position is based in an office environment. The candidate may occasionally work in a hybrid work arrangement of 4 days in office and one day from home as business allows. The expectation of this management position is that the employee will adjust their work schedule as required based on business needs.
- Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to vendor sites or business locations may be required.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Experience: 5 years of experience in a managerial role, preferably in a remote work environment. Strong understanding of vendor management and contract negotiation.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in virtual office tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, WebEx).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both English and French.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire remote teams while fostering accountability and collaboration.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and multitasking abilities to handle diverse responsibilities effectively.
