Position: Senior Mining Engineer

Location: Vancouver, Canada

Role Overview

We are looking for Senior Mining Engineers to join our Underground teams in Vancouver, Canada.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering technical assignments working under the guidance of a Project Manager. You will also play a key part in managing and mitigating AMC’s risk exposure while actively promoting AMC’s services.

Leveraging your experience and industry networks, you will proactively market AMC’s services and deliver chargeable consulting work.

Salary

C$140,000 – $150,000, the salary will be based on your overall experiences and qualifications.

Skills And Competencies

Core functions

  • Contribute as a professional team member in fulfilling AMC’s consulting projects.
  • Deliver technical engineering assignments to agreed specifications and quality.
  • Complete technical tasks within established timeframes and budget limits.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships to support AMC’s brand and project portfolio.
  • Generate and oversee an individual portfolio of consulting assignments through your own business development activities.
  • Review and support colleagues’ work and participate in internal knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Adhere to AMC’s risk management, health, safety, and quality assurance policies.
  • Ensure project documentation and client communications are current and accurate.

Competencies

  • Demonstrated competencies in underground mine design and scheduling using common industry software.
  • Experience in providing technical engineering support in operating mines.
  • Advanced technical problem-solving and sound decision-making skills.
  • Experience in life of mine planning and mining cost estimation.
  • Teamwork capabilities and proficiency in fostering team collaboration.
  • Skilled in managing multiple priorities and consistently delivering high-quality results under demanding conditions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience within a professional services environment, would be favoured.
  • Possesses a strategic perspective and an action-oriented approach to business development.
  • Committed to maintaining high ethical standards, professionalism, and integrity.

Qualifications And Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Mining Engineering is required.
  • At least 10 years of specialized experience, demonstrating recognized expertise.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently, coupled with strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to high ethical standards and professionalism, with values aligned to those of AMC.
