Role

Provide reception, administrative and clerical support at #103-17688 66 Ave, Surrey, BC.

Duties

Data entry

Enters data into databases and spreadsheets

Enters data into MyEdBC as directed by the student records manager

Enters and reviews data in learning management system

Reception

As directed by the office manager

  • Responds to inquiries from parents, students and general public face to face, via telephone and email within 24 hours.
  • Maintains first aid qualification and assist the school administrative team during emergency/medical situations;
  • Meets and greet parents, students and visitors and answers their questions
  • Delivers messages to teachers and other staff
  • Greets all who walk through TLA doors with courtesy and endeavours to help them in any way

Teacher interaction

Provides clerical support for all teachers, including but not limited to:

  • Mailing and photocopying
  • Updating student lists
  • Collecting and collating data

Parent and student interaction

Provides parents and students with accurate and timely information

Responds to telephone, e-mail and face to face inquiries and questions

Office functions

Performs other office duties as required including:

  • Placing orders
  • Arranging payments and registrations for events and activities
  • Planning for conventions, ceremonies, staff training and special events
  • Proof reading of mail outs and report cards
  • Filing - electronic and physical
  • Attends staff meetings and retreats as scheduled on the annual calendar and any additional meetings as required
  • Assists vice principals with all clerical needs
  • Assistance with library and resources as needed

Exercising judgment

Informs the office manager and vice principals of problems or conflicts as necessary

Evaluates personal progress in consultation with the office manager and vice principals

Working relationships

Reports to the Office Manager

Collaborates with other office staff as required.

Minimum qualifications

Office experience and a familiarity with home education.
