Manager, D2C Customer & Campaign Analytics
Purpose
We’re looking for a top technical and analytical mind capable of extracting business value out of our large and disparate data sets. You will influence the direction of the business by leveraging our data to deliver insights that drive decisions, evolution of our products and the way they fit into Scotiabank’s Insurance ecosystem across the Life/Health, Home/Auto and Travel portfolios. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, conceptualizing and leading complex initiatives from end to end. In addition to working with many stakeholders internally and externally, this role requires working through ambiguity, demonstrating good judgment under pressure and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The Manager, Customer Analytics will be responsible for delivering value-added analytics aimed at deepening customer engagement, customer insight and increasing the relevance of Insurance and driving sales. This individual will also help support the business to maximize growth and retention of the insurance customer base through timely execution of targeted multichannel campaigns, application of database marketing techniques, test design and delivery of insightful customer reporting. Further, this key staff member will help develop CRM initiatives that leverage knowledge of customer life cycle to retain, stimulate and acquire new customers.
The Incumbent’s Primary Responsibilities Are To
Sensory Attention – Frequent need to give close attention to concentrated reading; may require long hours at a personal computer in preparation of documents and presentations.
A standard office environment is provided with no unusual risk of injury or ill health from physical or environmental factors. Reports are typically prepared by the incumbent using word processing, spread sheet and presentations PC applications.

The Incumbent’s Primary Responsibilities Are To
- Data Analytics, Insights and Campaign Execution/Reporting (50%)
- Strategic Initiatives & Predictive Modeling (20%)

- Support the Senior Manager in the execution of all projects covering customer insights generation, campaign management and customer level reporting. The Manager will be involved in different stages of projects from tracking, test design, list creation and delivery through multiple channels (email, digital, telemarketing), offer fulfilment, and campaign performance reporting to stakeholders and senior executives.
- Lead development of recurring Customer level reporting support key areas of the business
- Develop a single, 360-view of a customer to make decisions about how to best acquire and retain customers, identify high-value customers and manage channel preference and risk.
- Interpret marketing and customer data to identify new opportunities on how to best target and appeal to customers.
- Define, develop, and execute targeted campaigns to accelerate sales, reduce attrition and grow revenue.
- Provide data discovery and deliver key actionable insights based on customer view of results.
- Provide relevant high-quality lead extraction for campaign targeting (contact optimization) of marketing programs, particularly the use of control groups and related post-analysis.
- Deliver timely, high quality customer campaigns/ initiatives (including lists requests, test design, campaign management, post campaign analyses and insights)
- Developing customer analytics, reporting and dashboards with single view of customer to provide timely and accurate customer insights to key internal stakeholders. Audit and troubleshoot data problems, if needed
- Synthesizing data to identify trends and deliver key insights and business recommendations Partnering with key internal stakeholders, including marketing, merchandizing and operations teams, to develop promotions and campaigns that drive sales to targeted customers
- Supporting key information technology initiatives, such as enhancements in single view of customer, customer data warehouse, CRM and campaign management tools
- Leverages SAS and other tools to produce data sets, analyses, tabulations, graphics
- Applying advanced analytical and statistical techniques to solve marketing questions
- Assist in ad-hoc requests as required from the business
- Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics
- Advanced Degree in Analytics/Business preferred
- 4+ years experience in Analytics or MIS/Reporting
- 4+ years experience in programming with SAS/SQL/Python as well as Power BI/Tableau
- Strong knowledge and proficiency with building data models and infrastructures - data mining, data profiling, modeling, cleansing, enriching as well as extract, transform, load (ETL) solutions and scripting
- Strong communication skills essential with clients, vendors and management
- Strong prioritizing, planning, analytical, presentation, project management, people management and relationship building skills
- Python / SAS programming expertise – Python/SAS Certification is highly desired
- Strong Excel and Power BI expertise Knowledge of Insurance business line and banking experience is highly desirable
- Expert with dashboards, KPI, business metrics generation
