Reporting to and under the general supervision of the Inspector and within established policies, procedures and guidelines provides and assists in the supervision of law enforcement, investigations and security services within the Niagara Parks Police Service.
Niagara Parks compensates in accordance with the Niagara Parks Police Service salary classification system at $128,842 per annum as well as a comprehensive benefit and defined benefit pension plan.

Qualifications
- Knowledge of law enforcement obtained through the Basic Constable Training/Course from the Ontario Police College.
- Successful completion of the Ontario Police College Constable-to-Sergeant promotional examination.
- Successful completion of the internal standardized policy and directives examination.
- Valid Ontario Drivers Licence - Class āGā with a clean abstract.
- Experience as a First-Class Police Constable.
- Prior Acting Sergeant experience will be considered an asset.
- Ability to perform the physical duties of the job.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to direct the work of others.
- Interpersonal skills including ability to deal with the people with courtesy and tact.
- Analytical abilities capable of identifying priorities.
- Knowledge of computers and related software.
- Required to work 12-hour shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Preserving and maintaining the public peace.
- Enforces federal and provincial statutes and regulations as amended and carries out duties in manner consistent with established policies.
- Patrols and maintains security of the Niagara Parks Commission property, assets and facilities.
- Responds to routine and emergency calls for police service.
- Taking statements from victims, witnesses and suspects; gathering and preserving evidence; laying information; apprehending, arresting and releasing offenders; executing warrants; transporting prisoners.
- Supervises platoon members who are conducting investigations which may include motor vehicle collisions, thefts, sudden deaths, etc.
- Ensures members under his/her supervision are accountable and in compliance with police service directives including General and Routine Orders, Codes of Conduct and any applicable legislated timelines.
- Responsible for overseeing administrative duties relating to functions of the service in relation to the members of the platoon being supervised.
