Winding Operator – Waterloo at Grand River Personnel
On behalf of our client employer in Waterloo, we are searching for a detail-oriented Winding Operator to join their manufacturing team!
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for building transformers according to detailed manufacturing documents, ensuring quality, accuracy, and adherence to safety standards. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy precision work, problem solving, and contributing to a team-oriented production environment.

Hours of work: Monday – Thursday 7:00am – 3:30pm (BONUS: work for 32 hours-get paid for 40!)
Hourly pay rate: $18.25/hour
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up workstation and equipment upon document verification.
- Verify revision levels on all Job Package documents before starting work.
- Record materials traceability information as required.
- Track shelf-life (expiry dates) on sensitive materials such as glue, tape, epoxy, and solvents.
- Perform daily pre-start checklists prior to operating the winding machine.
- Wind parts using magnet wire or copper foil as specified.
- Follow manufacturing documentation to achieve the correct number of turns.
- Install insulating barriers (Nomex, tape, copper).
- Make electrical connections using soldering, brazing, or crimping.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and communicate in English
- Attention to detail and manual dexterity
- CSA Safety shoes
- Any other PPE will be supplied
- Must be able to communicate in English (read/write/speak)
