Position: AI Tutor – Pure Math Specialist

Type: Full-time

Compensation: $90,000–$200,000/year

Location: Palo Alto, CA (in-office, 5 days per week) or Remote

Commitment: 40 hours/week

Role Responsibilities

• Use proprietary tools to label, annotate, and evaluate mathematical data and problem sets.
• Contribute to AI training tasks that strengthen reasoning across pure math domains.
• Collaborate with technical teams to refine annotation tools and workflows.
• Select and create problems from areas such as abstract algebra, real and complex analysis, topology, or graph theory.
• Evaluate model-generated solutions and provide detailed feedback for improvement.
• Interpret evolving task instructions and maintain accuracy, consistency, and professional judgment.
  
  

Qualifications

Must-Have

• Master’s or PhD in Mathematics specializing in pure math, or a medal in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) or similar high-level math competition.
• Strong ability to read and write both formal and informal English.
• Skilled in navigating academic databases, research resources, and mathematical literature.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound judgments with limited context.
• Passion for technological innovation and the advancement of AI research.
  
  

Preferred

• PhD in Mathematics with a focus on pure mathematics.
• Publications in peer-reviewed mathematical journals.
• Experience teaching mathematics or mentoring students at the college level.
• Prior work in AI training, tutoring, or technical writing.
  
  

Compensation & Legal

• Competitive pay ranging from $90,000 to $200,000 annually for U.S.-based professionals, depending on experience and location.
