experienced HR professional based at our central support office in Landmark 6 in Kelowna, one of Canada’s top-

The Director of People and Culture is responsible for designing and executing a people strategy that directly
supports the company’s growth objectives and guides how we scale. This role directly owns the evolution
toward a modern, capability-driven HR function. This includes partnering with the CEO and executive team on
workforce planning, organizational development and leadership effectiveness.


This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible. Core hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm. However, like any
professional position, the hours are based on what is required to get the job done. The position offers a
competitive base salary, an annual Profit Share scheme, a competitive benefits package, and a company

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS WE ARE LOOKING FOR:


  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior or executive

level role.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Leadership, Business Administration,
or a related field is preferred. Equivalent senior level experience will also be considered.
  • A commitment to ongoing HR thought-leadership and staying current with CPHR best practices.
  • Experience with leading the modernization of HR processes, systems (HRIS), and analytics.
  • Experience designing high-impact talent processes including performance management, succession
planning and leadership development.
  • Proven success with organizational structure design, organizational transformation, and
implementation.
  • Deep understanding of provincial and federal employment legislation, combined with a strong
commitment to employee development, engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to influence,
resolve conflict and build trust across all levels of the organization.








PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Lead the People Culture and Engagement Strategy – Lead the design and execution of an integrated

people strategy that advances BigSteelBox’s mission, values, and long-term growth ambitions.

  • Inspire and elevate the HR function – Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing People & Culture
team, building best-in-class practices across talent acquisition, employee experience, employee
relations, and compliance.
  • Architect organizational design and transformation – Partner with the Senior Leadership Team to
evolve our structure, culture, and systems to support a next-generation operating model that is agile,
scalable, and future-ready.
  • Build a culture of learning and leadership – Champion robust training, leadership development, and
performance programs that grow capability at all levels and create clear pathways for career
progression.
  • Champion diversity, equity, inclusion & belonging – Lead organization-wide initiatives that embed DEIB
into our policies, programs, and daily behaviours, ensuring every team member feels seen, valued, and
able to thrive.
  • Shape compensation and total rewards – Oversee salary frameworks and total rewards to ensure they
are competitive, fair, and aligned with our values, supporting attraction, retention, and internal equity.
  • Be a trusted advisor on policy & risk – Advise leaders on complex people matters, ensure compliance
with all applicable labour legislation, and proactively mitigate legal, financial, and reputational risk.
  • Cultivate a high-performance, people-first culture – Provide strategic guidance on performance,
employee relations, attendance, and workforce planning to build a healthy, accountable, and high-
performing organization.
  • Stay ahead of legislative and workplace trends – Monitor evolving employment laws, regulatory
changes, and HR best practices; anticipate their impact and recommend forward-thinking policy and
practice updates.
  • Ensure dignified, compliant exits – Oversee termination, notice, and severance practices that align
with provincial Employment Standards, reflect our values, and protect the organization.
