Our Cost Management team delivers expert cost planning, estimating, and change management across the full development cycle for residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and infrastructure projects. We provide clear, data-driven insights at every design stage, advising on constructability, escalation, contingency, cash flow, and life-cycle costs to reduce risk and maximize value. Powered by a robust database of material and labour costs, our accredited professionals benchmark and market-test every estimate, ensuring accuracy across regions, asset classes, and changing market conditions.

What You Get To Do

  • Prepare the quantification of materials using BTY’s measurement software to prepare cost estimates in accordance with the CIQS Rules of Measurement, elemental format, and where required, divisional trade format.
  • Prepare front-end cost reports to support cost estimates, understanding unit rates, general conditions and pricing estimates.
  • Attend periodic site inspections, as needed to assess the cost-to-complete and work-in-place for construction work.
  • Preparation of estimates at various stages of the design process, from conceptual design to pre-tender stage.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality checks (QA/QC) of cost management reports.
  • Completes assessments and analysis of any cost variances between estimate stages.
  • Preparation of change order review analysis and lifecycle cost estimates
  • Networks occasionally promoting the business, cross-selling and building new contacts and enhancing client relationships.

What You'll Bring

  • Having 0 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • University Degree or equivalent to any of the following: Architectural Building Technology, Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Finance, Construction Engineering or Project Management.
  • Working towards a relevant professional qualification will be considered an asset: PQS and/or MRICS.
  • Beginner to intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Experience with Cost X, Planswift or relevant estimating software is considered an asset.
  • Good analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with good organizational, communication and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and ability to work to own initiatives.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail to produce quality work with good time management.
  • Eligible to work in Canada or pursuing a work permit.

Wage

The wage range for the ROLE (NOC 22303 - Construction Estimators) position is between $55,000 - $70,000 per year based on work experience and qualifications. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and/or performance pay increase, based on performance.
