Black & McDonald’s Southern Ontario team is growing! We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Representative to join our team. Black & McDonald is hiring for the East end of Toronto through Durham Region. Reporting to the Facilities Services Sales Manager, the Business Development Representative is responsible for researching potential clients, cold calling, and developing and delivering proposals. While working in a team setting, he/she will be responsible for securing Facilities services agreements including Facility Management, HVAC, Energy, Plumbing and Electrical maintenance & service while honing your sales skills and assisting customers in developing the best possible solution. This position is the driving force for generating new revenue for the region. In addition, this position provides input and participates in the marketing, planning, and technical development of products and services.

Duties And Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Researching, cold calling and setting up meetings with potential clients
  • Utilize proven sales methods to identify and solicit potential clients for future service work
  • Meet with and develop impressionable relationships with potential clients to successfully understand their needs and specific requirements
  • Assess potential client needs and resources and recommend the appropriate solution
  • Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of internal staff and customers
  • Work with Project Representative and provide input where non contractual HVAC related services must be tailored to suit clients' needs
  • Develop reports and proposals as part of sales presentation to potential clients
  • Prepare sales contracts under the direction of the Sales Team
  • Price the agreement according to the company pricing standards
  • Prepare start-up documents for set up and attend start up meetings with new clients
  • Continue personal professional development and sales training
  • Participate in department planning meetings as necessary
  • Keep internal software and database up to date with sales activities
  • Attend weekly sales meetings, currently scheduled Monday mornings at 9:00am in the Toronto office
  • Sales Leader to be invited on (all) 1st calls, surveys, verification, and final calls
  • Provide weekly update Monday mornings on previous week activity and upcoming scheduled activities
  • Formalized review monthly during first quarter, then quarterly

Education Requirements

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-3 years’ experience in sales and preparing proposals or contracts
  • We value direct experience should it be available; however we are also willing to train people with talent.

Skills, Abilities, And Other Requirements

  • Due to many mandatory vaccination requirements at client projects / facilities, in order to provide substantial employment by ensuring compliance with our client’s mandates, the successful candidate will be required to validate full vaccination prior to hire.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; must be able to prioritize effectively
  • Strong analytical skills with an excellent attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Competency in a web-based sales tracking software such as Sales Force
