Procurement Manager (16-Month Contract) at Earls Head Office

Earls Kitchen + Bar is on the hunt for a Procurement Manager to join our Procurement & Supply Chain team for a 16-month contract in Vancouver, BC. This role is perfect for a strategic doer who balances bold negotiations with thoughtful relationship-building, all while keeping quality, cost, and timelines in perfect harmony.

Role Responsibilities
- Develop and present short- and long-term sourcing strategies that ensure access to high-quality products at competitive costs, aligning with business objectives and evolving market trends.
- Collaborate, negotiate, and hold suppliers accountable to secure the best products and programs for Earls, driving transparency, value, and mutual success.
- Ensure optimal value in every procurement decision by supporting the achievement of annual financial targets related to Cost of Goods and margin performance.
- Partner cross-functionally with Culinary Development, Bar Development, Marketing, and Design & Construction to define product specifications, quality expectations, and ensure alignment between procurement initiatives and broader brand strategies.
- Build and maintain long-term, high-impact supplier relationships, ensuring partners meet or exceed market inflation rates, deliver consistent quality, and uphold Earls’ values and standards.
- Lead contract reviews and risk assessments to confirm the ongoing feasibility of supplier agreements and proactively address potential vulnerabilities.
- Monitor and interpret market and industry trends to anticipate category shifts, identify innovative sourcing opportunities, and recommend actionable strategies to maintain a competitive advantage.
- Analyze internal business needs, data, and external market intelligence to uncover opportunities for cost optimization, efficiency, and process improvement.
- Drive innovation through research and access to emerging technology, products, and programs that enhance quality, sustainability, and operational performance across the organization.
- Collaborate with Procurement team members to strengthen capability, foster engagement, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Contribute to the implementation of the Procurement team’s strategic vision and annual objectives, ensuring tactical execution aligns with broader business priorities.
- Contribute to and maintain comprehensive procurement process documentation and playbooks to enhance training, cross-functional visibility, and business continuity.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of progressive experience in Procurement and Supply Chain, ideally within the restaurant, hospitality, or food & beverage industry.
- Degree or Diploma in Business, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Proven success in vendor selection, contract negotiation, cost control, and maintaining long-term supplier partnerships.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations, perishability, vendor reliability, and distribution logistics.
- Skilled at navigating supply chain disruptions and managing risk in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strategic thinker with a sharp eye for trends, forecasting, and continuous improvement.
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional partners, including Culinary, Marketing, and Design & Construction.
- Highly effective communicator with strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement systems or tools.
- Passion for the restaurant industry and a commitment to driving quality and consistency through strategic sourcing.
- Willingness and availability to travel across North America.
