Mott MacDonald’s Canadian Transit & Urban Mobility Group is looking to hire an adaptable and self-motivated individual to join our Vancouver team and to lead impactful transit projects across Canada.
You will have the opportunity to work for key Canadian clients such as TransLink, City of Calgary, City of Edmonton, Metrolinx and TTC as well as supporting projects in other geographic locations including the United States, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, tapping into the expertise of our global practices.
Our Transit & Urban Mobility team is looking for a Principal Program/expertise on transit and rail infrastructure projects. You will support growth initiatives through establishing and building client relationships in the transit, systems and transportation sector, support the development of staff at all levels, and contribute to Mott MacDonald’s commitment to excellence.

In compliance with the B.C. Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range is from $156,000 - $191,000
Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead Urban Transit & Mobility programs/projects, elements of projects and proposals within Mott MacDonald Canada
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with our clients and partners, liaising with clients and stakeholders to ensure program/project goals and objectives are met
- Provide direction on the implementation of program and project environments for our clients including people, organization, processes, systems and technologies
- Plan, organize, coordinate, and work with technical and management groups in the delivery of a range of projects and scopes
- Manage resources, schedule, and budget for programs/projects and scope on rail and transit projects.
- Lead and support teams of engineers and technicians to ensure programs/projects are completed on time, within budget, within managed scope and to the client's satisfaction
- Lead and mentor program/project team(s) of exemplary professionals
- Be accountable for compliance with internal performance metrics and set high expectations regarding the quality of delivery
- Undertaking a ‘digital by default’ approach in deliverables
- Act as a role model and ambassador for Mott MacDonald, articulating and representing our brand, vision, and value proposition internally and externally
- Nurture an innovative, challenging, collaborative and high performing work environment, which supports the use of digital tools and technology and fosters the Mott MacDonald values and culture
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
- PMP, Registered Professional Engineer in good standing
- Minimum 8 years’ progressive experience in project and team management
- 12 - 15 years progressive experience in transit, rail, systems and infrastructure delivery with significant experience in project and program management.
- Experience overseeing design and management of urban mobility and transit programs/projects and scopes
- Established relationships with key client organizations in the western Canadian market
- Well developed writing and verbal communications skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences as well as able to interface with wide variety of professionals (specialists, engineers, design managers, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to plan, lead and maintain good working relationships with our business partners, suppliers, contractors, and clients
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Proactive self-starter who is flexible, adaptable and a problem-solver
- Knowledge and understanding of industry project life cycle, procurement models, relevant industry standards and design criteria
- Incorporates health, safety and wellbeing in all that you do
