About Potash The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon. BHP’s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.
Jansen's construction will take place over several years with first production planned for mid-2027. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. The associated work schedule will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This position will require regular travel to the Jansen Mine Site.

- Lead the deployment and animation of the Jansen safety performance and culture program uplift.
- Accountable to lead, set and manage safety performance requirements for the Jansen Program.
- Lead people by example to empower and thrive their talent and operating discipline within Safety and our BHP Operating System.
- Communicate and effectively coach/mentor all levels within the organization on BHP Safetyfor the Program.
- Manage, improve and provide expertise on safety risk management practices to improve organisational safety outcomes and performance.
- Identify and assess risks, make risk informed decisions, use BHP's risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
- Manage directly interface with the construction contractor partners.
- Provide leadership to the safety professional team and contactor partners (HBJV).
- Experience on major project delivery (priority before Operation experience): in construction and commissioning phases.
- Experience in Human and Organisational Performance (HOP).
- Ability to interact and influence a large group of diverse personalities, from global backgrounds.
- Previous Health and Safety experience, preferably in the Mining Industry or similar environment.
- Demonstrated capability to influence agreements and create solutions with internal and external stakeholders at the senior management level.
- Demonstrated direct supervisory experience leading teams.
- Experience in the analysis and improvement of risk control strategies, including experience with deploying major change initiatives.
