IT Systems Technician at Qu Data Centres

Date: 1 hour ago
City: Ottawa, ON
Contract type: Full time
Bold ideas need dependable infrastructure and people who can build and maintain it.

At Qu, we run sovereign, in-country infrastructure, data centres, cloud, and managed services, so Canada’s builders and innovators can move fast without trading away control. Your work will help keep data close to home, accelerate teams, and scale growth for the builders and dreamers who rely on us.

We’re building for decades, backed by InfraRed Capital Partners and Sun Life. We’re small by design, 120 people, so your voice carries and your impact shows. You’ll work on real problems that matter: to take the routine and the complex off our customers’ plates so they can focus on what they need to grow.

If you want your best work to power someone else’s moonshot, this is your place. Quiet power, built for the builders and the dreamers. We’re Qu.

About The Role

We are seeking an IT Systems Technician to support our Toronto head office. This role is ideal for someone with 2–5 years of IT support or IT operations experience who enjoys helping people, keeping technology organized, and playing a key role in day-to-day IT operations. This is an onsite-focused position that works closely with our managed service provider (MSP) and our internal IT leadership team. You’ll provide hands-on support, help maintain our workstation and device environment, and ensure our employees—especially executives—have a smooth and professional experience.

What You'll Do

  • Provide onsite assistance to employees and executives at our Toronto head office.
  • Support meeting rooms, Teams Rooms, and AV equipment to ensure spaces are ready for use.
  • Help set up laptops, peripherals, and desk equipment for new and existing employees.
  • Manage device logistics: receiving, tagging, tracking inventory, preparing shipments, and coordinating returns.
  • Assist with onboarding/offboarding tasks such as assigning licenses and updating access groups using established procedures.
  • Keep IT documentation, runbooks, and SharePoint resources organized and up to date.
  • Coordinate with our MSP to ensure support tickets are addressed and resolved.
  • Assist with basic Teams Phone/telephony tasks, such as user setup or simple testing.
  • Follow IT processes to support security, compliance, and asset management.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in IT support, IT operations, or a similar technical role.
  • Strong customer service skills and confidence supporting users in person.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration (password resets, license assignment, group membership).
  • Comfort navigating Intune to view device status or compliance (no configuration experience required).
  • Experience maintaining documentation and asset records.
  • Ability to work independently, follow defined processes, and escalate issues when needed.
  • Professionalism suitable for supporting senior leaders and executive teams.
  • Bonus: Experience with Teams Rooms, telephony/VOIP systems, or cloud-managed device environments.

Why Join Qu

  • Be part of a once-in-a-career opportunity to shape Canada’s newest independent and data sovereign data centre and cloud services platform.
  • Work with a passionate leadership team committed to building a high-performing, customer-centric culture.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and significant opportunity for career growth as the company expands its product suite.

At Qu, we are committed to building an inclusive, equitable, and accessible workplace where all employees feel respected and supported. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.

We are also committed to providing accommodation throughout the recruitment and selection process. If you require accommodation, please let us know and we will work with you to meet your needs, in accordance with applicable human rights and accessibility legislation.
