We are now looking for a Director of Sales to lead and develop our Canadian Sales Team and take it to the next level.
About The Role
As Director of Sales at Mediaplanet Canada, you will play a key role in developing and executing our growth strategy. We see a great opportunity to significantly grow our revenue within the upcoming year, and we are looking for someone with the drive and expertise to make that happen. You will lead and coach the sales organization, consisting of 2-3 Business Developers who lead teams with 5-10 Account Executives each. You will also work on our packaging and ensure that we remain the market leader in content marketing.
You will report directly to the Managing Director in Canada and have significant freedom to shape and develop the business.
Your Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute sales strategies in line with Mediaplanet’s global goals. Identify new business opportunities and drive initiatives to maximize growth.
Sales Management
Lead and coach the sales team to achieve and exceed targets. Work closely with the team to optimize packaging and business models.
Team Development
Recruit, train and develop to retain and grow the sales organization. Build a high-performance culture where the team is inspired to exceed expectations.
Customer Relations
Strengthen relationships with clients and partners in our core verticals – health, lifestyle, technology, business, and social causes.
Collaboration & Innovation
Work closely with marketing, product development, and other departments to create synergies and drive innovation in content marketing.
Your Profile
Leadership Experience – minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a leadership role within sales. If you have managed managers before that’s a plus but not a requirement.
Media knowledge – You have worked within Media before and are comfortable with digital media. If you have worked with print media, that’s a plus.
Commercial Mindset - Proven ability to drive sales, package offerings, and optimize revenue streams.
Operational & Strategic - Hands-on mentality with the ability to both set strategy and execute operationally.
Strong Communicator - Ability to inspire and motivate teams, as well as build long-term relationships with clients and partners.
High drive – Goal-oriented with high energy and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
A university degree is preferred but not required – we value the right mindset and experience over formal education.
You’re curious, ambitious and willing to go the extra mile for your team.
