We're seeking a Benefits & Retirement Specialist (1-Year Contract) to administer programs that support the health, financial security, and overall well-being of our Associates. In this role, you’ll ensure compliance with organizational goals and regulatory requirements while delivering accurate, timely guidance to employees. You’ll contribute to competitive total rewards strategies, manage vendor relationships, and support projects that enhance the Associate experience across TJX Canada. What You’ll Do:
Administers group benefits and retirement programs, including Life, Disability, Health, Dental, HCSA, RRSP/DPSP.
Provides headcount, demographic, and termination data to vendors.
Conducts pension and benefit data audits, ensuring resolution and proper filing.
Manages tickets, escalations, and exceptions in collaboration with partnering teams.
Maintains accurate and up-to-date Associate-facing documents, policies, offer letters, and vendor guides.
Ensures data accuracy and integrity in Workday and related systems; manage change requests, testing, and partner communication.
Identifies opportunities to streamline processes and enhance the Associate experience; manages benefit education and communications for employees.
Participates in benchmarking and market analysis to ensure competitive offerings.
Assists with planning, testing, audits, and communications for projects such as Open Enrollment, Renewals, Overage Dependent Campaigns, Vacation Trade, Bonus Allocation, and union negotiations.
Supports education and engagement campaigns for targeted strategic goals.
Participates in strategic projects as required.
About You:
A minimum of three (3) years professional experience in Benefits and Retirement.
Post-secondary education; working towards the CEBS designation considered an asset.
Good knowledge of Canadian pension and benefits programs and related legislation.
Working knowledge of group benefits and retirement program administration including the ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures; monitoring and implementing program changes.
Good collaboration, influencing and partnering skills, including prioritizing urgency, effectively communicating and working across multiple teams and levels within the organization.
Solid data collection skills, analysis of information (e.g. description of problems, qualitative data collection and analysis etc.); able to analyze and interpret data sets using statistics and report synthesis to convey meaningful trends and insights.
Excellent communication skills (active listening, reflecting and rephrasing other’s ideas to ensure understanding, articulating views clearly, writing with clarity, adapting message for the audience).
Project support skills including maintaining detailed plans for projects, understanding and applying principles of project control; the ability to organize and track program delivery progress across multiple initiatives.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including strong Excel skills, Word, Powerpoint, Sharepoint; experience with Adobe products is considered an asset.
