Events and Experience Coordinator at Port of Vancouver

The Events and Experience Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and assisting in the development and execution of events and programming for Canada Place and the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority.
What you do:
- Working with the Guest Experience and Events Advisor, support the planning and implementation of events at Canada Place, including but not limited to July 1 activities, Christmas at Canada Place, summer programming, onsite marketing activations, and more
- Participate in the planning and execution of port-led events, including but not limited to World Maritime Day at the Port of Vancouver and the Port Fundraising Gala
- Coordinate suppliers, contractors, volunteers and staff in accordance with event plans.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of the overall guest experience plan.
- Under direction, lead the planning and implementation of select on-site projects, including but not limited to interpretive signage, temporary and permanent exhibits.
- Support third party activations on-site at Canada Place
- Oversee the installation and removal of any seasonal or protocol elements, such as flags or temporary signage
- Work with the maintenance, engineering and operations teams as needed to ensure a positive guest experience at Canada Place
- Coordinate the Sails of Light at Canada Place program, responding to lighting requests, managing the annual calendar and working with the lighting vendor to address programming issues or changes
- Work with the corporate communications team and external suppliers as needed to ensure advertising materials are prepared for all events or initiatives
- Work with the production company, corporate communications team and external suppliers as needed to ensure all signage is designed and installed for all events or initiatives
- Maintain signage inventory for wayfinding and operational signage at Canada Place and update as needed
- Work with the external supplier to update the content for the digital advertising board on site at Canada Place
- Provide support and content for the Canada Place corporate and event websites as needed.
- Provide support and content for the Canada Place social media platforms as needed.
- Under direction, lead the ongoing management and content updates of the Canada Place mobile app
- Participate in the preparation of award applications to enhance brand profile for Canada Place events.
What you bring:
- A two-year full-time diploma in communications, event management, or a related field, from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in planning, production and logistics for large-scale public events, specifically with attendees of over 5,000.
- Must have experience managing relationships and overseeing the day-to-day activities of vendors, suppliers and production staff, along with experience overseeing and tracking event budgets.
- Requires excellent communication skills and organizational skills, along with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Experience negotiating and executing media partnerships and experiential marketing activations will be an asset.

Working environment: Regular office hours, with occasional evening and weekend work at events.
