Medicine Hat College invites applications for a Residence Assistant (RA) position in Student Residence for Spring and Fall semesters, with appointments beginning in May and August 2026. Applicants must apply to live in Medicine Hat College Student Residence for Spring or Fall 2026 (when open) and must be currently enrolled as a full-time student at Medicine Hat College, maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.5.
A little about the role:
Reporting to the Student Residence Coordinator, Residence Assistants play a key role in creating a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive living environment. Responsibilities include organizing activities, modeling positive behavior, and providing support to residents navigating personal, social, and academic challenges. Residence Assistants also support resident safety and enforce residence policies during assigned shifts by conducting rounds and responding to emergencies. Clear record-keeping, effective communication with residents and staff, and teamwork within the RA team are essential components of the role.

- Currently living in Student Residence

Terms of Employment
Term of Appointments: Spring 2026 semester, start date - May 2026
Fall 2026, start date - August 2026
Hours of Work: As scheduled (includes evening and weekend shifts)
Compensation: Resident Assistants are compensated with a rent waiver for a standard room and coverage of internet fees. In addition, they benefit from professional development courses and valuable leadership opportunities.
