The Human Rights Office (HRO) oversees the administration of SFU's Human Rights Policy (GP18) and Bullying and Harassment Policy (GP47), and provides community-wide education of addressing and preventing discrimination, bullying and harassment. The HRO offers consultations to all members of the SFU community seeking advice and information on their human rights. The HRO also provides community-wide education on human rights topics, respectful workplace practices and bullying and harassment prevention.

About the Role

The Education Specialist, HRO, plays a key role in advancing SFU’s commitment to equity, human rights, and respectful workplace practices. Reporting to the Director of the HRO, this position leads the development and implementation of a strategic education plan focusing on bullying and harassment prevention, human rights awareness, and compliance with WorkSafeBC and human rights legislation. The Education Specialist works collaboratively across portfolios to conceptualize, develop, deliver, and evaluate educational initiatives for SFU students, faculty and staff that build capacity, reduce complaints, and support cultural transformation. This position will be key in fostering working and learning environments at SFU that are free from bullying, harassment and discrimination.
