About The Role
The Financial Accountant will play a key role in supporting our Corporate Finance team by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and analysis. This position is responsible for a range of accounting functions, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations, cash flow reporting, and preparation of quarterly, monthly, and annual financial statements. You’ll also take the lead on annual audit file preparation, commissions and bonus calculations, monthly tax remittances, and contribute to the annual budgeting and reforecasting process.
This is a hybrid role based out of our office in Surrey, BC, working 2 days in office and 3 days from home.

Compensation
At the time of this posting, the estimated annual base salary for this position is $63,000-68,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and education/training. This range reflects the annual base salary only and does not encompass the comprehensive total rewards package that we proudly offer.

- Develop a strong understanding of the Corporate Finance accounting functions.
- Complete training on balance sheet reconciliations and gain familiarity with accounts and transactions.
- Complete training on cash flow reporting and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Training on month-end closing and reporting requirements.
- Gain understanding of different types of month-end journal entries.
- Learn the customized Sage Intacct settings and apply these skills when preparing reconciliations.
- Handle monthly tax remittances.
- Complete training on PP&E and intangibles schedules.
- Complete bi-monthly commissions training
- Learn the accounting functions and reporting requirements for different entities.
- Train on quarterly reporting and mid-year reforecasting.
- Support annual budgeting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and financial statements.
- Support annual budgeting and reforecasting.
- Complete training on quarterly bonus calculations.
- Weekly cash reporting
- Bank reconciliations
- Month-end journal entries
- Balance sheet reconciliation and analysis
- Tax remittances
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and financial statement preparation
- Annual budgeting and mid-year reforecasting
- Annual audit file preparation
- Daily deposits and postings in Sage Intacct
- Completion of a degree or diploma in accounting
- Minimum 3 years in an intermediate accounting or similar role
- At least 5 years of overall accounting experience
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level)
- Experience with full-cycle accounting and month-end closing
- Experience with Sage Intacct (asset)
- Experience in group benefits industry (asset)
- Experience with commissions and bonus calculations (asset)
- Interest in pursuing an accounting designation (asset)
