Hey, we’re Article. Since 2013, we have been redefining the furniture industry one sofa at a time. It’s not easy; it requires solving challenging, meaningful problems. This is where you come in. As an Assistant Store Manager – Visual Merchandising, you’ll help bring the Article brand to life in our Strathcona store. You’ll lead visual merchandising execution and support a standout customer experience by creating inspiring spaces that tell our product stories with clarity and creativity.

In our Retail team, the visual experience plays a critical role in how customers engage with our products and our brand. As we expand our physical retail presence, we need a detail-oriented and design-savvy visual leader who can create a cohesive, aspirational, and immersive experience in our showrooms.
Within your first few months, you’ll help lead the store through seasonal resets and product storytelling updates. In a year, you’ll be proud to say you’ve helped elevate our visual presentation while mentoring the team on visual standards and above-the-line behaviour.

What You’ll Do
You’ll be part of the store leadership team, focusing on visual merchandising and presentation excellence.
- Own the visual merchandising execution and in-store presentation standards.
- Create inspiring and functional room layouts to highlight key collections and stories.
- Translate seasonal brand direction into immersive in-store experiences.
- Coach team members on visual standards and why they matter.
- Collaborate with store leadership and the Regional Visual Manager.
- Use visual tools (like moodboards or layouts) to support storytelling.
- Support store operations and product placement to keep the floor looking fresh.
- Review traffic flow and layout impact to continuously improve customer experience.
- Lead by example with a focus on resilience, adaptability, and above-the-line behaviour.
- 2+ years of retail leadership experience in customer service.
- 2+ years of proven experience in Retail Visual Merchandising with detailed knowledge of fashion & retail.
- A visual merchandiser with strong design instincts and attention to detail.
- Able to balance creative vision with practical retail execution.
- Passionate about storytelling and customer experience.
- Comfortable leading by example and coaching others.
- Curious, organized, and a natural problem-solver.
- Legally able to work in Canada.
- Completion of a criminal background check.
- Visual merchandising experience in home or fashion retail.
- Leadership experience in a customer-facing retail environment.
- Interest in interior design or home furnishings.
- Able to travel to the United States (once or twice a year).
