3D Construction Specialist
Location: Whitecourt, AB
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour days
Start Date: January 12, 2026
FLINT is seeking a 3D Construction Specialist to support design and construction activities across Oil and Gas facilities. This hybrid role combines field data collection using advanced 3D scanning technology with CAD-based modeling and drawing production to support projects from initial capture through construction and as-built documentation.

3D Construction Specialist

FLINT is seeking a 3D Construction Specialist to support design and construction activities across Oil and Gas facilities. This hybrid role combines field data collection using advanced 3D scanning technology with CAD-based modeling and drawing production to support projects from initial capture through construction and as-built documentation.
Responsibilities
The 3D Construction Specialist is responsible for collecting accurate field data and converting it into construction and fabrication deliverables. Responsibilities include:
- Traveling to operating and remote facilities safely and efficiently
- Coordinating with site operations, project managers, and coordinators
- Capturing and processing field data using 3D laser scanners and total stations
- Mobilizing, handling, and maintaining scanning equipment
- Producing isometric drawings, 3D models, layouts, and fabrication plans
- Supporting construction through drawing revisions and as-built documentation
- Marking up P&IDs and coordinating technical details with clients and contractors
- Using CAD software to produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings
- Ensuring all deliverables meet project, constructability, and safety requirements

Qualifications
Required
- Journeyperson Pipefitter certification
- Experience in the Oil & Gas industry
- Strong knowledge of piping systems, P&IDs, and structural steel
- Proficiency with CAD software such as CADWorx, SpoolFab/Acorn, Plant 3D, and Navisworks
- Strong computer skills with advanced 3D visualization capability
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to split time between office work and travel to remote locations
- Physically capable of lifting up to 10 lbs throughout the day
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Minimum mandatory safety certifications:
- H2S Alive
- Standard First Aid
- WHMIS
- Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal
- Must have reliable personal transportation to site
- Experience with FARO laser scanners
- CAD piping design certification
- Experience producing fabrication-ready and as-built drawings
