Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the MANAGER, PROPERTY MANAGEMENT, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values, and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the ELECTRONICS TECHNOLOGIST is responsible for: maintaining, modifying and repairing electronic control equipment, facilities security and safety systems, automation equipment, audio-visual related equipment, clinical electronic systems, performing various installation work; assisting with maintaining inventory; and performing other related duties as assigned.
Experience
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
Interviewed candidates may be called upon to participate in a skills assessment.

Experience
- Five (5) years’ experience as an Electronic Technologist maintaining electronic equipment.
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Graduate of a recognized institute of electronics at a Certified Technologist level.
- Certified as an Electronic Engineering Technologist (CET) by CTTAM.
- Electrical “M” License issued by the province of Manitoba.
- Good understanding and experience working with computer controlled electronic control systems.
- Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, configure and program the following computer-based facility control systems: Electronic card access, Nurse call systems, Paging systems, Surveillance systems – IP based cameras and Intercom systems.
- Experience maintaining audiovisual equipment, computers and related peripherals.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Neat and tidy appearance.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible shifts as required/requested.
- Physically able to carry and move tools and equipment on ladders and platforms (up to 34 KG).
- Manual dexterity.
