We are looking for a permanent Project Engineer to join our Terminals and Capital Projects team in Saskatoon!

Headquartered in Saskatoon with three international offices, Canpotex is one of the world's largest suppliers of potash overseas. On behalf of our Shareholders, Mosaic and Nutrien, we market and deliver Saskatchewan potash, a valuable fertilizer nutrient, to millions of fields and farmers globally - ultimately helping the world grow more food.


The Opportunity:

  • Manage all phases of industrial capital projects ($1MM-$10MM USD), including engineering, permitting, execution, and commissioning.
  • Oversee scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk across multiple projects; conduct stage-gate reviews for governance.
  • Prepare feasibility studies and business cases; lead front-end planning and risk assessments.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts and change orders with external parties.
  • Enforce Safety, Health & Environment standards through field audits and continuous learning.
  • Coordinate project handover into operations, master data, and reliability initiatives.
  • Implement ISO 55000 asset management practices and develop long-term renewal plans.
  • Support failure investigations and track corrective actions for improvement.
  • Enhance project tools, dashboards, and reporting to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams; provide clear project updates.
  • Assist with strategic and annual planning to align with corporate and asset objectives.


You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of five to eight years’ experience in project management or a related field.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (APEGS).
  • PMP or other relevant designations are considered an asset.
  • Ability to travel to various international terminal and port locations.

  • Process and Systems Improvement: Improves Project Management standards and reporting, strengthens data handovers, and drives continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Decision Quality and Analytical Thinking: Makes timely decisions and recommendations while balancing value, risk, and cost, and documents trade-offs for governance.
  • Collaboration and Influence: Fosters effective relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive shared positive outcomes. Ensures compliance by holding teams and vendors accountable through audits, implementing corrective actions, and maintaining adherence to established policies.
