Your Role at KIK
The Master Data Management Specialist is responsible for maintaining data governance frameworks, policies, and processes to ensure the accuracy, quality, and security of data within the manufacturing environment. This role involves collaborating with various departments to establish data governance standards and practices that support the organization’s strategic objectives. As the Master Data Management Specialist, you will champion data governance as a strategic initiative, ensuring business unit-wide alignment on data accuracy, accessibility, quality and compliance. You will also partner with IT, business units and leadership to align data governance efforts with BU objectives.

Responsibilities
What You’ll Be Doing
- Data Governance Strategy:
- Maintain the organization’s data governance vision, strategy, and roadmap.
- Define data governance objectives, priorities, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Establish governance structures, roles and responsibilities to support effective data stewardship and accountability.
- Lead the Data Governance Committee to ensure key stakeholders are aligned with any changes and cadence of committee meetings are held to review data quality, process improvements and issue resolution.
- Policy and Process:
- Maintain the data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Define data classification schemes, data ownership models, and data lifecycle management
- Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
- Data Quality Management:
- Maintain data quality standards, metrics, and monitoring mechanisms.
- Collaborate with data owners and stewards to identify data quality issues and root causes.
- Implement data quality improvement initiatives and corrective actions as needed.
- Data Governance Education and Awareness:
- Provide training and guidance to employees on data governance principles, policies, and procedures.
- Raise awareness of data management best practices and their importance to business operations.
- Foster a culture of data stewardship, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Governance Oversight and Reporting:
- Establish mechanisms for governance oversight, including regular reviews and audits.
- Monitor Compliance with data governance policies and assess the effectiveness of controls.
- Prepare and present data governance reports, dashboards, and metrics to senior leadership.
Qualifications
What You’ll Bring
- Associate degree in related field required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Management or related field preferred.
- At least 2 years’ experience in master data management within an ERP system position required; JD Edwards is a plus.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large amounts od data accurately and timely, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate data requirements to the business and translate business requirements into data solutions.
- Understanding data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other similar programs such as Power BI and Qlik
