The Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools (RDCRS) is seeking motivated, energetic, team-focused, and faith-driven individuals to join our team as the Career Pathways & Learning Services Coordinator. This role will lead initiatives that support student career development and learning pathways while fostering strong partnerships with students, families, schools, and community organizations to ensure meaningful opportunities and collaborative success.
Position Overview
The Career Pathway & Learning Services Coordinator provides leadership and strategic oversight for career programming across Red Deer Catholic School Division’s high schools, supporting students in exploring and navigating meaningful career and post-secondary pathways. Grounded in Catholic faith, this role helps students recognize their God-given gifts and apply their talents in service to others, connecting academic learning to real-world opportunities.
Reporting to the Director of Learning Services, the Coordinator oversees Off-Campus and Career Pathways teachers, ensuring consistent, high-quality programming in Dual Credit, Off-Campus Education, the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP), Green Certificate, CTS/CTF, work experience, and related initiatives. The role also fosters partnerships with post-secondary institutions, industry, and community organizations, while promoting student success, employability skills, and faith-based development.
About Red Deer Catholic School Division (RDCRS)
Located in Central Alberta, RDCRS serves over 10,200 students in 21 schools across Red Deer, Blackfalds, Sylvan Lake, Rocky Mountain House, Innisfail, and Olds. The division offers:

Key Responsibilities
1. Career Pathway Leadership & Coordination
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Off-Campus and Career Pathways teachers, fostering professional growth and instructional excellence.
- Oversee division-wide career programming, including Dual Credit, RAP, Green Certificate, CTS/CTF, and Off-Campus Education.
- Support and supervise teachers based at the Monfort Centre to ensure program consistency and quality.
- Help students connect academic learning to career exploration and post-secondary opportunities, promoting employability and life skills.
2. Strategic Planning & Program Development
- Lead the development of a five-year vision for Career Pathways and Off-Campus Education, identifying opportunities for growth and innovation aligned with division priorities and Catholic values.
- Analyze current programs and data to inform strategic planning, continuous improvement, and decision-making.
- Support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of new and existing career programs.
3. Student Support & Career Development
- Guide students in exploring career pathways aligned with their interests, strengths, and long-term goals.
- Promote equity and access to career programming for all learners.
- Ensure student safety, professionalism, and readiness across work placements and community partnerships.
- Support student transitions from middle school to high school and from high school to post-secondary education, apprenticeship, or employment.
4. Partnership Development & Community Engagement
- Collaborate with post-secondary institutions, industry partners, employers, and community organizations to expand experiential learning opportunities.
- Develop and maintain partnerships that support dual credit programming, work experience, and workforce readiness.
- Represent the division in regional and provincial career pathway initiatives.
5. Data-Informed Practice & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze program participation, completion, and outcome data to guide program planning and improvement.
- Monitor program effectiveness and ensure alignment with Alberta Education requirements and division priorities.
- Support reporting, accountability, and evaluation related to career and off-campus programming.
6. Faith-Based Leadership & Collaboration
- Model gospel-centered leadership and contribute to a supportive, faith-filled team environment.
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers, counselors, career practitioners, and system leaders.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and reflective practice.
7. Other Duties
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Learning Services or Associate Superintendent, Learning Services.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will:
- Be an active, practicing Catholic committed to Catholic education
- Hold a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Demonstrate leadership experience at the school or system level
- Have expertise in career pathways, dual credit, high school credits, instructional leadership, and educational technology
- Demonstrate exceptional conflict management skills, maintaining composure and fostering constructive solutions in challenging situations
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $133,000 – $140,000, commensurate with experience
- 12-month, out-of-scope position
