Your Opportunity: This position is responsible for providing and performing the highest quality service possible to the clients of Diagnostic Imaging Services with a focus on booking of Diagnostic Imaging exams. Duties include greeting and registering patients, documentation, order entry, telephone coverage, electronic scheduling of appointments, assisting technical staff and working closely with other areas. Required Qualifications: Some post-secondary education Additional Required Qualifications: Medical Terminology or Unit Clerk Course required. Accurate and proficient keyboarding skills – must be able to type a minimum of 35 wpm. Absolute attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent knowledge of the English language both written and oral. Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional image, manage stressful situations with empathy and to remain calm, courteous, sensitive, and tactful. Demonstrated ability to work independently. Skilled at paying close attention to detail. In accordance with Health Information Act (HIA), Freedom of Information and Privacy (FOIP) and other privacy legislation in effect the incumbent shall comply at all times with APL / AHS’s Information Privacy and Information Security policies. Able to prioritize work and cope with frequent interruptions. Must be able to work all shifts based on operational needs. Recent Diagnostic Imaging experience required. Previous electronic Diagnostic Imaging Scheduling experience required. Demonstrated proficiency in Windows (Word, Excel, Internet, and Email). Must be able to utilize dual monitors. Must be able to lift a minimum of 10lbs Preferred Qualifications: Minimum 3 months recent experience in a hospital or medical environment, involved in booking, reception, and clerical duties preferred.
