IT Specialist at Peace Wapiti Public School Division
Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) provides service to approximately 6,100 students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12 in 34 schools and is one of the largest employers in the Grande Prairie/Spirit River region.
Peace Wapiti Public School Division invites applications for a Permanent Full Time IT Specialist(40 hours per week).The ideal candidate will be able to work diligently, accurately and will possess a great problem-solving ability in order to implement and repair a wide range of technology.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent professional experience
- Demonstrated ability to obtain and hold industry certifications such as google IT support, CCNA, Microsoft Azure, Etc. (Current certifications are not mandatory, but it is expected the candidate will obtain what is necessary as part of professional development.
Requirements
- Willingness to travel - This position will include regular, all year, site visits to all schools within the Division
- Maintain accurate and up to date documentation of work
- Maintain a good working relationship with coworkers and school staff
- Very good communication abilities
- Must hold a valid Alberta Driver's License
Responsibilities to include but not limited to
- Research technology related issues and products
- Hardware and software troubleshooting
- Competence in the assembly, racking and configuration of networking hardware
- Interactive display installation and support
- Research technology related issues and products
- Provide helpdesk and onsite support for schools
- IT experience with client, server, and network service delivery

Salary is commensurate with experience. The salary range for this position is $6,087.99 to $7,801.91/month.
