Through the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS), the Government of Canada has embarked on one of the largest procurement projects since the Second World War. The NSS is a nation-building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry, secure long-term job opportunities and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSS–related work, Seaspan Shipyards is owning the redevelopment of our domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada, by Canadians.

The Intern, Ship Completions Planning is responsible for supporting the Ship Completions Planning team in the management of the detailed Commissioning schedule and key micro schedules. They will be working across multiple projects, specifically JSS1, JSS2 and Polar. The role will involve working in Microsoft Project and Primavera P6 to support schedule updates, improvements and health checks. There will also be an involvement in supporting the Ship Completions Planning Manager to define an internal plan for the team to follow. The role will directly report to the Ship Completions Planning Manager.

Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 2 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.

What you'll do

  • Support the weekly management of the micro schedules including input of progress, updating of forecasts and running of progress sessions
  • Support T&T Schedulers to roll up micro schedules so that they are reflected within the IMS
  • Create and manage the Schedule Health metrics for the team, identifying issues and working with the team to resolve them
  • Support the management of the schedule change process
  • Develop an internal team plan which can be used week-to-week to define the scope the team is to complete
  • Support development of an internal team dashboard

We require a full-time commitment Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week with an hourly rate of $28.00/hour.

Start date of Internship: Tuesday, September 8th, 2026.

End Date of Internship: Friday, April 30th, 2027 (8-Months).
