Data Security & DLP Analyst (AI Training)

About The Role

At Alignerr, we partner with the world's leading AI research teams and labs to build and train cutting-edge AI models. We're looking for data security professionals who understand how sensitive information is exposed, mishandled, and protected in the real world.

This is a unique opportunity to apply your hands-on security expertise to a high-impact problem: teaching AI systems to reason accurately about data risk, DLP controls, and information security scenarios. Your real-world knowledge directly shapes how frontier AI understands and responds to data security challenges.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Analyze realistic data security and DLP scenarios spanning cloud, SaaS, and enterprise environments
  • Classify data sensitivity levels, exposure pathways, and policy violations
  • Evaluate prevention, detection, and incident response strategies for accuracy and completeness
  • Generate, label, and validate data security cases used to train and benchmark AI systems
  • Apply your practical understanding of how data risk plays out across modern organizations

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of experience in data security, compliance, security operations, or a related field
  • Hands-on familiarity with DLP tools, data classification frameworks, and privacy or regulatory concepts (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA)
  • Practical understanding of how sensitive data moves, leaks, and gets exposed in real environments
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to document findings clearly
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on task-based assignments

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) or SaaS security posture management
  • Background in security policy development, risk assessment, or data governance
  • Familiarity with frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls
  • Prior exposure to AI, machine learning, or data annotation workflows

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside world-class research teams
  • Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
  • Contribute to meaningful work that makes AI safer and more security-aware
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
