Learner Engagement Coordinator at Alberta Mortgage Brokers Association

Date: 6 hours ago
City: Calgary, AB
Salary: CA$55,000 - CA$70,000 per year
Contract type: Full time

The Alberta Mortgage Brokers Association (AMBA) seeks a Learner Engagement Coordinator to join our high-performing, dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of experience in a fast-paced, people-facing role with multiple competing priorities.

The Learner Engagement Coordinator keeps learners moving through AMBA's education programs: reaching out, sustaining engagement, and guiding each step of the journey from first interest to enrollment to completion. Behind that front-facing work sits the operational backbone: organizing schedules, materials, and communications, and maintaining the records and reporting that keep programs on track.

This role is roughly two-thirds learner engagement and communication, one-third systems, data, and logistics. It suits someone proactive and personable who enjoys keeping people on track, and who brings structure and accuracy to the details behind the scenes.

Who We Are

The Alberta Mortgage Brokers Association (AMBA) is the collective voice of the mortgage brokerage industry in Alberta. Through advocacy, education, information, and networking, AMBA develops a standard of excellence for its members and promotes an ethical and sustainable mortgage industry for consumers and industry members. Founded in 1975, AMBA is an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to highly ethical business principles and advancing the industry’s high integrity and professionalism.

Who You Are

  • You are a proactive and approachable professional, energized by reaching out, building rapport, and keeping people moving forward.
  • You connect easily with people in person, by phone, and by email, explaining things clearly and guiding them through important decisions.
  • You thrive in structured, fast-paced settings and bring organization and accuracy to detailed, behind-the-scenes work.
  • You are tech-savvy and pick up new systems quickly, comfortable navigating unfamiliar tools with little guidance.
  • You are detail-oriented, take ownership of your work, and look for ways to improve how things run.

Top candidates will have experience in customer service, administrative, hospitality, sales, or operations-focused roles (e.g., call centre, restaurant), ideally supporting projects within structured timelines and workflows.

Key Role Accountabilities

Learner Engagement & Enrollment Progression

  • Proactively reach out to prospective and current learners to spark interest, build rapport, and keep them engaged from first contact onward
  • Sustain momentum across the learner journey, following up at each stage to move learners from initial interest to enrollment to completion
  • Provide clear, accurate program information that helps learners make confident decisions about their next steps
  • Spot early signs of hesitation, delay, or drop-off, and re-engage learners with timely, personalized follow-up
  • Track where each learner sits in the pipeline, so no one stalls or slips through

Learner Communication & Journey Support

  • Proactively communicate with learners throughout their education journey to maintain engagement, clarify next steps, and encourage continued progression.
  • Host and facilitate virtual touchpoints — orientations, info sessions, and check-ins — that keep learners informed and connected
  • Keep program communications consistent and timely across every stage of the journey
  • Respond to learner inquiries related to program progression and engagement

Program Operations & Delivery

  • Coordinate the schedules, materials, communications, and logistics that keep programs running on time
  • Support course launches, updates, and the day-to-day moving parts of program delivery
  • Monitor course delivery for gaps or recurring issues and raise them with context and suggested solutions

Records, Data, & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and current learner records across the LMS and internal systems
  • Review data across platforms to catch discrepancies, investigate the cause, and flag them with recommendations, then pull and validate enrollment, progression, and activity data for reporting
  • Gather learner and stakeholder feedback at key points and turn it into practical suggestions that improve communications, workflows, and the learner experience

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain information clearly, guide people through decisions, and facilitate group sessions such as orientations or virtual info sessions
  • 2–4 years of experience in a fast-paced, people-facing role with multiple competing priorities — for example, restaurant or hospitality, call centre, administration, or operations
  • A track record of building rapport and keeping people on track, with comfort working toward targets, enrollment outcomes, or other measurable goals
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple workflows at once
  • Comfortable working with data — reviewing records for accuracy, spotting discrepancies, and compiling information for reporting
  • Tech-savvy and quick to learn new tools — proficient in MS365 (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook) and confident working across CRMs, databases, and other digital systems
  • Post-secondary education preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
