PURPOSE

To supervise inventory and distribution management services within the warehouse and participate in developing business/systems solutions to meet business requirements.

Knowledge/Technical Skills

  • of the principles, theories, and concepts of inventory and distribution management to assist in identifying opportunities for improvement and to make recommendations for changes
  • of the relevant department policies and procedures related to warehousing and inventory and distribution management to recognize and investigate changes to procedures, methods and work processes
  • of the principles of project management to develop, execute and monitor plans for small scale projects
  • a minimum of 3 years of experience in Inventory Management is required
  • a minimum of 3 years of proven experience using SAP LO and VeraCore Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is required
  • Must have experience completing inventory replenishment and creating purchase requisitions.
  • Must have demonstrated experience completing warehouse cycle counts and creating delivery schedules for ICBC broker partners and stakeholders

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

May perform any of the responsibilities of the Inventory Analyst, and in addition will typically be responsible for the following:

  • Works as part of a project team and/or independently to identify business requirements, conduct operational research and analysis, and develop recommendations for changes in operational procedures and /or computer systems as related to inventory and distribution management.
  • Develops, monitors and maintains plans for small scale projects. Determines project implementation requirements and coordinates testing and implementation activities.
  • Prepares a variety of written reports and materials to provide information to others in the division and/or to support new systems including project status reports and discussion papers.
  • Participate in performance reviews of vendors in relation to KPI reviews
  • Prepares and updates operating procedures for use by warehouse staff and customers.
  • Experience participating in projects related to inventory management or inventory items would be considered an asset

The above requirements would typically be acquired through post-secondary education related to business administration and enrolment in the Certified Purchasing Professional Program and a few years of related experience in the inventory and distribution management field.

Work arrangements defined

Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
