The Information Services Division is currently looking for Senior QA Analyst to join our Digital teams. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing complex solutions using a mix

of testing approaches and tooling technologies to ensure the quality of ICBC’s various Customer facing services

As a Senior QA Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Provide expert-level leadership and oversight for functional, integration, regression, automation, and performance testing across enterprise-wide systems and portfolios.
  • Define test strategy, approach, and quality standards, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and delivery frameworks.
  • Lead the identification of test objectives and drive the development and execution of comprehensive test plans across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality manual and automated test cases derived from structured acceptance criteria, including exploratory and risk-based testing approaches.
  • Partner with product owners and business stakeholders to refine user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring they are testable and optimized for automation.
  • Champion test automation practices include development and execution of automated acceptance, regression, and end-to-end test suites.
  • Perform complex data validation, system integration testing, and regression analysis across multiple platforms and interfaces.
  • Lead defect triage and root cause analysis, identifying systemic issues and driving resolution across technology and business teams.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior QA team members, promoting best practices, continuous improvement, and capability uplift.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, architecture, operations) to embed quality engineering practices throughout the SDLC/Sprints.
  • Support production readiness, release validation, and post-implementation verification, including incident and problem management activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on test efficiency, automation maturity, and quality metrics.

Position Requirements

This position will require someone who has 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience in the domain of software testing or a combination of relevant post-secondary education and related business experience.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Strong technical expertise in database concepts and hands-on experience with SQL/DB2 for complex data validation and analysis.
  • Extensive experience with enterprise testing tools and frameworks (e.g., JIRA, Zephyr, Selenium, Cucumber, SOAP UI), as well as monitoring/log analysis tools such as Splunk and ITSM platforms (e.g., HPSM, HaloITSM).
  • Deep knowledge of testing methodologies and strategies, including risk-based testing, end-to-end validation, regression optimization, performance testing, and automation frameworks.
  • Proven experience in designing and scaling test automation solutions, including script development, framework enhancement, and CI/CD integration.
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, including facilitation, relationship building, identifying and mitigating technical risks, and conflict resolution.
  • Expert-level understanding of Agile and DevOps practices, with experience acting as a QA lead within Scrum teams or as a Scrum Master where needed.
  • Demonstrated expertise in functional and non-functional testing, including performance, security, and reliability considerations.
  • Advanced experience in impact analysis and risk assessment within complex enterprise environments.
  • Solid experience supporting production environments, including incidents, problems, and change management processes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes.
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, providing direction and oversight in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Demonstrated strengths in critical thinking, problem-solving, and continuous learning, with a focus on driving innovation in quality engineering practices.

Work arrangements defined

Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
