Contract type: Part time

As a successful Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a team as well as working individually in a self-motivated environment that is always changing. Adhering to the provided care plan that has been established in collaboration with the client, family and members of the interdisciplinary team will support you in your every changing environment. You have an opportunity to contribute as part of the interdisciplinary team, demonstrating excellent creativity and resourcefulness with the ability to think on your feet with little direction. You will need to have great time management and organization abilities in order to balance different priorities at once. This role focuses on Continuing Care at the Lloydminster Continuing Care Centre, a 60-bed Type A facility that includes two secure units of 40 dementia-care beds. Lloydminster is Canada's only border city, offering breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, vast farmlands, and rolling river hills. The community is culturally diverse, with a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that celebrates people from all backgrounds. It features a vibrant mix of locally owned boutiques, spas, and restaurants, along with a variety of businesses and amenities. With over 35 parks, multiple recreation centers, splash parks, and extensive walking and biking trails, Lloydminster provides both the charm of small-town living and the convenience of a diverse, well-equipped city.

As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team, providing personal assistance by supporting activities of daily living and delivering support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short term assistance or ongoing support, in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures. In this role, you will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers across the continuum of care in home, community, and health care facilities. You will assist nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs; assist with organized activities or programs; and observe and report on patients' mood, health, and wellbeing. Working under the supervision of a regulated health professional, you will assist in maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, while supporting effective communication with patients and health care professionals.
