Job Summary

Emily Carr University of Art + Design is currently seeking a qualified instructor to teach

FNDT 151 – Printmaking within the Faculty of Culture and Community in the Fall 2026 semester. We currently have one in-person section available; the section is scheduled for Tuesdays, 8:30am to 11:20am.

This course will introduce the concepts and techniques central to the practice of printmaking in a hands-on, workshop environment. A variety of methods and approaches for making prints will be presented in a series of weekly demonstrations and assignments, which may include projects in stencil-printing, letterpress, intaglio, relief, lithography, and book media. This course will consider how artists have explored the printed image and the role that the print has played in cultural production.

Course outlines and guidance from regular faculty are provided to successful candidates.

Required Qualifications KNOWLEDGE

• Alignment with Foundation area pedagogical goals
• Active Printmaking practice that includes critical engagement and interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches

EDUCATION

• MFA or equivalent

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum required teaching experience at post-secondary level or equivalent
• Demonstrated ability to teach at first-year Foundation level
• Demonstrated ability to teach an interdisciplinary print curriculum
