ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Program Manager, Continuous Improvement, Strategic Initiatives and Administration, this position is responsible for providing a full range of activities related to departmental business planning initiatives, continuous improvement initiatives and business continuity activities. Responsible for coordinating the development and monitoring of the annual departmental plan and contributing to the Strategic Plan process. Leading department quality initiatives that drive continuous improvement throughout the Department. Coordinates and supports the development and maintenance of business continuity plans; and provides analysis, reports and recommendations to management.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Supports the integration of continuous improvement practices across strategic planning, annual departmental planning, and business continuity planning processes, ensuring alignment, adaptability, and resilience across departmental operations.
  • Manages and coordinates various projects and initiatives including the development of detailed work plans.
  • Designs, develops and implements various initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities, and business planning considerations.
  • Supports departmental readiness by coordinating business continuity plan updates, identifying requirements, staff training and testing exercises.
  • Prepares analysis and reports on business continuity status, risks and gaps for management review.
  • Coordinates and supports the department’s annual strategic planning processes, collects and maintains relevant data, analyzes and reports on results and recommends opportunities for improvement.
  • Leads the coordination of the annual departmental and branch performance plans and quarterly performance reporting in collaboration with partners.
  • Supports the development, tracking, and maintenance of key performance metrics to support performance management and decision making.
  • Identifies business improvement opportunities across the Department, in collaboration with internal partners ensuring alignment with strategic priorities, and departmental objectives.
  • Facilitates and leads various workshops etc. with partners to document and identify opportunities for improvement for processes, policies, guidelines, resources and tools, as required.
  • Identifies, manages and coordinates corporate and departmental process improvement projects and initiatives, providing support to corporate committees, as required.
  • Prepares briefing notes, background materials, reports, and presentations and develops options on a wide range of business planning and initiatives, for submission to the Department/Branch Management team, Commissioner, or Senior Management Team, as directed.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Successful completion of a University Degree or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in program administration, project management, program planning, change management strategies, process design, and business administration
  • Ability to demonstrate the Region’s core competencies.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office and use of virtual platforms.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to connect with a range of internal and external partners while focusing on fostering collaborative work relationships.
  • Strong report writing, research, analytical and presentation skills and work to tight deadlines.
