Operations & Logistics Coordinator ($50,000 - $55,000 / Year - Salary) at Monte & Coe
We believe in challenging the status quo of what luxury means today, often well marketed, but poorly and unethically made. We believe in the techniques and materials of a day since past. We believe that true luxury transcends brand name; it should embody unparalleled excellence, synonymous with superior quality, ethical craftsmanship, sustainability, and the use of the finest natural materials.
Created in small batches by master artisans in our Toronto and Montreal studios, our luxury everyday essentials are crafted from the finest natural materials using old-world techniques that have been passed down for generations. Our everyday essentials are meticulously assembled using the finest wool, vegetable-tanned leather and waxed cotton canvas. Created as an investment piece to last a lifetime and be passed down to the next generation.
We operate a growing ecommerce, wholesale, and corporate gifting business. Our team is the heartbeat of our success, and we're looking for a dynamic Operations & Logistics Coordinator to keep our operations running smoothly and efficiently.
Job Overview
We are a growing boutique brand specializing in luxury, handcrafted lifestyle accessories. Until now, our logistics and fulfillment have been run solo by one of our co-founders. We’ve reached the point where we need a dedicated owner to take the reins, optimize our systems, and scale our operations.
We are looking for an Operations & Logistics Coordinator who is excited to get their hands dirty. To start, you will be deeply in the weeds—physically packing orders, managing day-to-day warehouse inventory, and coordinating domestic and international shipments. However, you aren't just a packer; our goal is for you to own this department, build your own team, and eventually step into the role of Operations & Logistics Lead.
If you are a high-energy, detail-oriented logician who loves physical work but thinks strategically, we want to build with you.
Key Responsibilities
- Fulfillment & Assembly: Hand-pack and process daily e-commerce and retail orders with an obsessive attention to presentation and detail (our brand is luxury, and the unboxing experience matters).
- Corporate Gifting & Events: Carefully package, customize, and prep large-scale corporate gifting orders, and coordinate the logistics/supplies for high-profile onsite gifting experiences and trade shows.
- Receiving & Inventory Control: Physically receive incoming manufacturing shipments, perform accurate audits, organize the warehouse, and keep our inventory management systems perfectly up-to-date.
- Cross-Border & Carrier Management: Own our shipping relationships (carriers, freight forwarders, couriers). Navigate cross-border customs paperwork (commercial invoices, duties, HTS codes) to ensure seamless North American and international delivery.
- Continuous Improvement: Spot inefficiencies in how we pack, store, or ship, and work directly with the founders to implement smarter, faster, and more cost-effective warehouse processes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Hands-on Experience: 2–4 years of experience in e-commerce fulfillment, warehouse logistics, or import/export shipping.
- Physical Capability: This is a highly physical role to start. You must be comfortable standing, moving, and safely lifting/carrying boxes weighing up to 60 lbs on a regular basis.
- Cross-Border Savvy: Solid understanding of cross-border shipping processes (US/Canada customs, commercial invoices, and international shipping rates).
- Tech-Literate: Experience using modern inventory management platforms (we use Katana), Shopify, and Google Workspace.
- The "Founder" Mindset: Extremely organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, small-team environment. You don't wait to be told what to do—you see a bottleneck and fix it.
Why Join Us?
- Real Growth Potential: You are getting in on the ground floor of a small brand. As we grow, you will transition out of daily packing to hire, train, and manage your own operations team.
- Founders' Mentorship: Work directly alongside the business owners, gaining an inside look at how to scale a luxury product company.
- Competitive Compensation & Perks: A competitive salary/hourly rate and a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Note: The duties and responsibilities in this job description are not exhaustive and may be subject to change at any time due to the needs of the company.
