Job Overview

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, as the Senior Accountant you will provide accounting and financial expertise to support the business units in the assigned region. You also prepare financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations and other accounting related reports.

Your Day-to-day Responsibilities Will Include

• Preparing monthly/quarterly reports and balance sheet reconciliations to be provided to management and responding to inquiries.
• Preparing and posting journal entries and reconciling bank accounts.
• Assisting in maintaining job estimates and other data in ERP system.
• Assisting in developing and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and systems of internal controls.
• Supporting year-end auditor requests.
• Performing job costing analyses, reviewing financial statements and investigating variances.
• Completing reports, analyses and special projects as required.
• Assisting with training and mentoring accounting team members.

Essential Requirements

• A professional accounting designation (CPA) or currently be enrolled in the CPA PEP program.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, including inventory and job costing, and operational variance analysis, is considered an asset.
• Strong analytical and sound decision-making abilities.
• Able to work with and maintain confidential information.
• Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint) and accounting software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active pursuit of a professional designation is a strong asset.
• Advanced Excel skills are an asset.

Work Conditions

You primarily work in an office setting during regular business hours. Overtime may be required during month-end, year-end, and other peak reporting periods.
