About The Opportunity

Our client, a member-centric national association/not-for-profit, is seeking a Bilingual Communications Manager. Reporting to the Vice President, this role is accountable for Communications, Media Relations and Market Research for the organization. This is a 10–12-month term position.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Develop, manage, execute and evaluate the organizations communications and media strategy to support the strategic plan
  • Draft, edit and proofread communications materials to ensure consistency of public message and overall clarity
  • Manage the organizations website content
  • Respond to media requests; write and distribute media releases
  • Plan and coordinate media outreach
  • Crisis and issues communication, as needed, including occasional evening/weekend issues management
  • Research and write materials to support the organizations needs; using existing case studies and market data)
  • Source and compile statistical information to respond to stakeholder requirements
  • Contribute to Board reporting

About You

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Post-secondary education in the area(s) of communications, journalism, public relations or similar discipline
  • A minimum of three years in a national association or similar environment in communications, media or public relations
  • Experience managing external relationships and/or project management
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both official languages
  • The ability to undertake occasional travel for conferences and trade shows, some of which will be outside of Canada (post pandemic)

About the Job

This role is a full time/permanent, offering a competitive salary of $70,000 to $80,000, together with a comprehensive benefits package that includes retirement component. Our client is offering a hybrid work arrangement, with an in-office requirement of three days per week. The selected candidate must have the ability to travel within Canada periodically.
