We are seeking a candidate with a strong understanding of Edmonton’s business and legal sectors, capable of executing sales strategies while managing the planning of communications, thought leadership, and client experience initiatives. The role involves identifying leads, strategizing on client pursuits, coaching lawyers through the sales process, and co-selling with them at events and networking functions, leveraging the national Client & Business Development team as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Edmonton lawyers with business development, including identifying market opportunities.
  • Enhance national promotion of Edmonton’s capabilities to clients, facilitating lawyer integration into industry teams and key client groups.
  • Build local brand awareness through client seminars, events, memberships, sponsorships, and media opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the national Proposals & Pursuits team on developing marketing materials.
  • Maximize Edmonton lawyers’ client and referral relationships through coordinated outreach, while working with Client & Business Development colleagues.
  • Represent the firm in local business activities, providing insights and contacts.
  • Maintain client information in the firm’s CRM.
  • Assist the Managing Partner with initiatives to drive collaboration, growth, and retention.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, PR, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business, marketing, or sales, ideally in professional services (law firm experience is a strong asset).
  • Deep understanding of Edmonton’s business community and the Northern Alberta region.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and teamwork skills.
  • High level of client service and diplomacy.
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint; ability to quickly learn new software like CRM or project management tools.
