Our client, a leading company in the field services industry, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join their dynamic finance team. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial integrity and supporting the growth of the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial analysis, with a proactive approach to process improvement and problem-solving. You will work closely with various stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end closing activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management, providing insights and recommendations
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning
  • Collaborate with the finance team to improve processes and implement best practices
  • Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation and support
  • Support the Finance Manager in various accounting and financial analysis tasks as needed
  • Engage with the finance team during the Controller's maternity leave, ensuring continuity and support

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA designation (or in progress) is preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Experience in the construction or field services industry is an asset
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
