Earth Sciences and Engineering specializes in site planning, spatial information and digital terrain modeling, surface and subsurface investigations, rock mechanics, underground structures, geotechnical laboratory services, flood forecasting and water resource management through our geotechnical, hydrotechnical, and civil site development expertise.
As the successful candidate, you will perform the below tasks:
- Design of hydraulic structures (spillways, conduits, drop structures, etc.)
- 1D, 2D and 3D hydraulic modelling of open channel systems and hydraulic structures
- Hydrologic analysis (statistical and rainfall runoff modelling)
- Dam safety reviews
- Reservoir routing studies
- Watershed management studies
- Design of flood control infrastructure
- Power and energy studies for hydropower
- Managing projects and small assignments. Projects will generally be concentrated within the water resources, flood control and hydropower sectors with opportunities to participate in the infrastructure and mining/industrial sectors
- Performing engineering analyses and designs in collaboration other disciplines
- Preparing detailed technical reports, drawings, specifications and correspondence
- Developing business opportunities and writing proposals.
You bring to the role:
- Bachelor of Engineering or college dimploma in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources Engineering
- Master's degree preferred
- 10+ years post-graduation engineering experience
- Registered, or eligible to be registered, and licensed to practice as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Saskatchewan or Alberta
- Demonstrated expertise in the water resources, hydropower, flood control, and/or flood protection sectors
- Team focused with excellent interpersonal skills and the drive to learn
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel within Canada and Internationally on short term assignments as required.
We will also consider candidates based in Calgary to work out of our local office.
