The Operations Lead at Crop Management (CMN) strives to deliver the highest quality of service to our customers by ensuring our equipment, facilities, and warehouses are running as efficiently as possible.
The Operations Lead is responsible to provide updates on inventory levels; troubleshoot any mechanical issues; schedule and participate equipment/facility maintenance and inspections; assist with the receipt of fertilizer, seed and chemical to plants the warehouses; coordinate customer pick-up/transfers of product; ensure the facility is keep clean and free of hazards; and follow AWSA and Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures.

General Operations
Hours of work are normally Monday- Friday, 8:00am- 5:00pm. Due to the nature of the business the spring/fall months of the year may require a change in schedule and overtime hours.
In the field:

Responsibilities
General Operations
- Dispatch and provide journey management plans to optimize location equipment movements
- Safely perform operations duties to serve customers, such as, blending and loading fertilizer, unloading and loading seed and agricultural chemical products
- Ensure the yard, equipment and any buildings of CMN's are clean and free of hazards.
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
- Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits.
- Report any discrepancies in inventory, equipment or product to the Director of Operations.
- Unload materials and supplies safely and promptly from delivery trucks, and properly place them in the warehouse and yard area.
- Ensuring the proper handling and storage of crop input products with adherence to company and industry safety standards.
- Operate and preventively maintain the warehouse, vehicles and equipment.
- Work independently on projects or assignments without close supervision or detailed instructions to maximize workplace productivity.
- Prioritize assignments and projects to ensure completion within established timeframes and by expected deadlines.
- Supervise and conduct maintenance and repairs of facilities and equipment.
- Ensure proactive maintenance of facilities to guarantee a safe working environment.
- Plan and/or perform wide variety of repairs on plant facilities and equipment by disassembling and locating the cause of operational difficulties and replacing or repairing worn or broken parts.
- Responsible for general maintenance, cleanliness, and repairs of facilities and equipment
- Lead daily safety talks and prepare safety documents via SiteDocs
- Supervise the daily operational activities and ensure they're conducted safely, efficiently and profitably.
- Maintain records of all inspections performed to ensure we are compliant and meet environmental and health and safety requirements.
- Ensure that onsite Contractors are orientated to company policies and procedures
- Work with CMN Logistics Coordinator to keep informed of product delivery or shipments
- Lead and implement effective inventory management program to minimize damages, prevent unplanned condition problems, meet customer requirements, and ensure high standards are maintained.
- Coordinate delivery or pick up of product with Account Managers and the customer
- Work with Administration to ensure inventory is accurately inputted in Tronia and real-time.
- Controls inventory levels by conducting regular physical counts
- Ensure documentation for delivery/pick up is accurate.

In the field:
- Work with hazardous chemical/materials
- Required to load clients with product using a tractor, forklift other equipment.
- Longer hours in busy season (April & May)
- Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, snow, ice, etc.)
- Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures
- May be required to work at varying heights
- Lift 50 - 75 lbs.
- Preferred Class 1 or Class 3 license
- Able to operate a forklift and tractor
- Be able to work with minimal supervision
- Be self-motivated, a self-starter and be well organized, must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have ability to follow safety, production and quality requirements
- Must be able to use applicable computer systems: Tronia & Office 365 Programs (Teams and Outlook)
- Customer focused
- Able to coordinate and manage several projects at a time
- Ability to meet the company's policy requirements by completing a criminal background check, and drivers abstract
- Obtain First Aid, WHIMIS, TDG & Forklift Training
- Adhere to the company Health, Safety & Environmental Program
- Able to operate computer programs such as Outlook, Teams, SiteDocs, CMMS and basic excel for data entry
