We are competent in providing primary and remedial (P&A) oilfield cementing services, downhole isolation technologies, soil stabilization and fluid services. Many of these services can be applied across various industries, such as oil & gas, agriculture, construction, roads and infrastructure, laydown yards, and retention ponds. Under the direction of their department Manager, the Shophand is responsible for various up-keep and maintenance duties such as cleaning shop, picking up tools, sweeping floors, emptying trash cans and other tasks as required. This position is considered to be a safety-sensitive position.

Job Responsibilities

  • Keep the shop and yard clean, including: floors, washrooms, coffee rooms, and clean/wash bay.
  • Put parts and tools away in identified storage locations.
  • Perform laundry duties and ensure cleaned items are put away in their designated areas.
  • General maintenance of shop tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or by use of a hand truck.
  • Assist with cleaning and working on equipment.
  • Assist in the bulk plant when required.
  • General assembly work that may require operating automated machinery and various power/hand tools.
  • Learn the terminologies and operation of Magnum’s equipment and its components as it relates to the cementing of oil and gas wells.
  • Participate in training and development activities.
  • Other related duties as required.

Qualifications - Required

  • Valid driver’s license (non-graduated) with a clean driver’s record.
  • Physically capable of moving/lifting heavy objects up to 23 kg., bending, standing, and climbing repeatedly for extended periods.
  • Legally eligible to work in the country the role is based out of.

  • Previously worked in a shop environment.
  • Familiar with operating and maintaining automated machinery, hand and power tools.
  • Desire to learn.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, reliable, and dependable.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to change.
  • Understands the importance of safety.
  • Team player and customer service focused.
  • Demonstrated initiative and results orientated.

Qualifications - Assets

  • Interest in getting a Class 1 (Canada) / class A CDL (U.S.) and working in oil and gas field operations.
  • Mechanically inclined.
